Gimmicky Combos Ruin TCGs

At first I thought this game was great. Excellent strategy required: knowing when to move a unit instead of attacking with him, when to sacrifice him to block huge incoming damage, balancing your deck between creatures, spells, and fortunes....all excellent stuff.

However, like most TCGs, there are several ridiculous combos that break the game. I'm sure someone with more experience can mention more, but the one I HATE is the Stronghold one. I can't even describe it perfectly because the programmers won't let me look in the discard piles once the game is over (which is dumb), and like most broken combos, this one is an iWin button.

Here's the combo: Stronghold fortune that lets you play a unit that gains Quick Attack (don't know the name b/c I don't own the card, and this combo wins the game every time). Player then plays Enraged Cyclops, shooter unit with Double Attack (a ridiculously OP card in its own right...hillarious that they mention that the unit will receive Retaliation damage after each attack...it's a shooter....there is no retaliation damage, which is precisely why giving it Double Attack is stupid beyond compare). The player then loads up the Cyclops with enough buffs to boost its attack to half your health, attacks twice and you're dead. Zero strategy involved. Might as well cut the deck and play high card wins!

Of course, this combo requires an open lane to attack, but even if you did manage to block all 4 rows in anticipation of this broken iWin combo, a Broken Bridge or any other number of fortunes or spells just clears a row anyway.

Every single time I've seen this combo, it's been a cheap insta-win. In the last game I played, my opponent was terrible...he had good cards, but his tactics were poor (attacking when he should have been moving, and moving when he should have been attacking, etc.). He'd drop shooter units across from my Elite Squires, and dropped two units with 1-2 health in a row directly opposite my Sun Rider. I slowly dismantled his army while protecting my hero and the game was well in hand with him sitting at 4 health and me at 16 and 8 units in play to his 1 (which had 1 health left). He used Broken Bridge to clear my top row. Used the epic fortune, dropped an Enraged Cyclops, buffed it with 2 x Blood Shaman Hut, and that was game.

I'm sorry, but when good tactics get beaten by bullsh*t combos, then the game is broken and VERY unenjoyable. It's bad enough that there are so many ridiculously unbalanced cards, but this combo is so ridiculous that there are many players out there who have NOTHING but this in their deck. They load up on spells & fortunes to kill/clear creatures all the while drawing cards in an effort to get this combo into play...how ridiculous is that?
