I just thought of an idea and need your guys help / input! I was thinking of a draft tournament queue for Duel of Champions.
How it would work: takes 3 packs and 1 (or 2) ticket to enter (packs would need to be the same. Maybe offer 3 basic set, or 2 basic 1 herald or 1 of each). If anyone has played magic the gathering it would be the same drafting. You pick a card and pass the pack. Every pack you pass it a different direction. You get to keep all cards you draft. Prizes could be awarded to first / second and a random person like they are set up now.
For the hero, just make a special one for draft. Maybe it'd have 1/1/1 and only basic draw ability. You would be able to use any faction or school of magic but this would be only used in drafts.
Pros: would be a fun new game type. Would be good for free players and for paying players as well (it also might make free to players spend money). Could help you complete your collection or pick up uncommons you are missing.
Cons / problems: there would only be 27 cards instead of the 59 in a normal deck. Magic has lands to fill space but I don't know how to get around this in DoC. Event cards: you wouldn't have the 8 event cards and event cards in packs would be a waste of a slot that would be in your deck. If you dc that would also be an issue.
Anyway just a quick idea I had at work. This probably isn't doable but maybe you guys can come up with ways to make it work / balance it!
