What I like in this game

Hi,
Being game developer myself, this it the part where I want to start :) With appearances a bit not-final at this point, it is a joy to see many bright spots.

I really like it that developers stick to the older days. It may just be a marketing imperative, but I like it this way: we expect the MM to be old school, and in many aspects it is. Grid is cool, in simpifies map design and in sends us back to the feel of pseudo-3d MMs, the first ones. Yes, it feels odd that you cannot shoot something that is almost in front of you, but this can be fixed later on.

I like the raw edges, like the map which is a bit clumsy, or quests without any sort of fancy qurest marks or "Navigate to..." buttons. It is cool! The world is mainly what you see through your eyes, and not in the dashboards and casual interfaces. My stats and skills are scattered across "book pages", not gathered in one single plain character screen. It's lovely!

Characters look-and-feel - yes, again old scool, same portaits wth a dosen an expressions, and I like it. Really hope to see more variations at the release, too. And, lads and lasses, If you make a character doll to be "dressed" like in MM6-8, that would be awesome.

How it looks in the dungeons - oh, really good even now. Outdoor feels clumsy, but indoors is both well painted and smooth.

Monsters. Well, yeah, they move slowly, odd and are not always modelled great, but they are extracted from the HMM game, and it is an MM tradiition. What I would really like, is that some monsters from the older MMs, like beholders or medusas, also made it through.

Skill progression. Well, I would like more skills, novice skill trainers, no auto level-ups and so on, but the main thing about MM skill system is the same. I expect some canch-up in magic, though, there spells themselves should be altered by mage's skill tier, but this can stll be done, can't it? :)
